Ayakatubby/Stoklos - $ 4,250

Notes:

Kiraly/Steffes vs. Dodd/Whitmarsh-
Kiraly/Steffes dominated this match, opening a very quick seven point lead.

Johnson/Loiola vs. Ayakatubby/Stoklos-
An incredible start by both teams with 39 straight sideouts. It wasn't until 4:51 into the match that the first point was scored by Johnson/Loiola, and they held the lead for the rest of the match, finally winning on time. Stoklos and Ack showed some incredible power, finishing with 20 (Stoklos) and 15 (Ack) kills, while Loiola and Johnson answered with 22 (Johnson) and 16 (Loiola) kills. Loiola also added 3 solo blocks.

Kiraly/Steffes vs. Johnson/Loiola-
Close final all the way. It was tied at 1-1, 4-4, and 5-5. Finally, down 5-6, Kiraly/Steffes went on a five point tear, which included four straight service aces by Karch. After Karch got his 3rd ace in a row, Johnson walked to the sideline, picked up a white towel and waved it at Karch, then called the sand time out. Even Karch chuckled, then nailed a 4th ace!!!

Steffes "Shoulder" Watch-
It's only one tournament, and the players only had to play two matches. But, if these two were any indication, Kent Steffes is baaaacckkk. He put some balls down hard, like the Kent of old. His serving is as good as ever, and he still has that well-disguised, "turn-the-shoulder", down the line hit.
