MCPEAK/RENO CAPTURE OLD ORCHARD BEACH OPEN
OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME. - Top-seeded Holly McPeak and Nancy Reno
captured their fourth event title of the season by defeating
second-seeded Linda Hanley and Angela Rock in the championship
finals here Sunday in the inaugural Old Orchard Beach Open.
The $40,000 Old Orchard Beach Open was played on five newly-
constructed sand volleyball courts as Sunday's matches concluded a
three-event, fo-place match, fifth-seeded Patty Dodd and Christine
Schaefer rallied from a 7-3 deficit to defeat sixth-seeded Lisa
Arce and Cammy Ciarelli 15-11. The third-place was Schaefer's best
finish ever as she and Dodd split $5,000 while the losers shared
$3,400.
Echo Entertainment of Encino, Calif., taped the Old Orchard Beach
Open for distribution via Prime Network the week of July 9. Drew
Goodman of Denver, Colo., and Maria Barnes of Manhattan Beach,
Calif., provide the commentary.
Following the Old Orchard Beach Open, the Coors Light Tour
concludes the final third of the season in Pismo Beach, Calif.
(July 22-23), Portland, Ore. (Aug. 5-6), Long Beach, Calif. (Aug.
11-13) and Huntington Beach, Calif. (Aug. 18-20) before ending the
season in Kauai, Hi. (Sept. 21-23).
