MCPEAK/RENO WIN JANTZEN PRO BEACH VOLLEYBALL TITLE PORTLAND, ORE. - Top-seeded Holly McPeak and Nancy Reno won their fifth-straight beach volleyball title here Sunday in the inaugural Jantzen Pro at Portland Meadows to continue their dominance on both the domestic and international circuts. McPeak and Reno finished the event with a perfect 6-0 match mark, including a 15-4 win over second-seeded Linda Hanley and Karolyn Kirby in the championship match. The winners shared the $9,400 first-place prize while Hanley and Kirby split $7,000 in their first event together on the Coors Light Women's Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. McPeak and Reno have won their last five events together, including three FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship-Series events in Hermosa Beach, Calif., Korea and Japan. The streak started with a Coors Light Tour crown in Old Orchard Beach, Me., July 9. The $42,400 Jantzen Pro, the 12th of 15 stops on the Coors Light Tour, was played on five newly-constructed sand volleyball courts on the "home stretch" at Portland Meadows. Echo Entertainment of Encino, Calif., taped the Jantzen Pro for distribution via Prime Network the week of Aug. 6. In the third-place match, third-seeded Lisa Arce and Angela Rock defeated seventh-seeded Patty Dodd and Christine Schaefer 15-11. Arce and Rock shared $5,000 while Dodd and Schaefer split $3,400 for the final four appearance.
