The first six events will make up the regular season with a seventh and final qualifying event entitled the Wilson/AVP Qualifier Tour Championships. Several events on the Wilson Qualifying Series have been strategically scheduled in order to also serve as pre-event qualifiers for Miller Lite/AVP Tour events.
A total of eight players competing on the 1998 Wilson Qualifying Series will receive exemptions onto the 1999 Miller Lite/AVP Tour. Players competing in each Event will receive points based upon their finish. An escalating point system will be applied to the 1998 AVP qualifier tour.
The six highest ranked players upon completion of the six qualifier tour events will automatically earn exempt status on the 1999 Miller Lite/AVP Tour. These players will not be allowed to play in the Wilson/AVP Qualifier Tour Championships as a result of their exempt status. The top ranked team will earn an automatic entry into the field of the U.S. Championships.
The final exemptions will be earned by the winning team of the Wilson/AVP Qualifier Tour Championships.
